A wonderful company from Denmark that has been around since 1957. The development of LifeStraw has been an extraordinary journey. It began in 1994 when the Carter Centre approached LifeStraw's parent company Vestergaard to develop a filter that could remove Guinea worm larvae from water that was contaminated. Vestergaard designed a fabric filter but developed it into a more effective pipe form in 1999.
