Why are we so fond of watching outdoor programs such as Hunted: into the Wild and No way back?

Because we live in a time where technology increasingly occupies our lives and we are increasingly connected via all social media and the internet, there is a growing need for Real Adventures in nature. Also because these programs can be seen more and more, people are getting more and more the need to go on an adventure themselves.

What attracts us very much in these tours is a few days just not to be reachable and to be able to enjoy the rugged and beautiful surroundings. The areas where these programs take place are often also such that it is not even necessary to turn off your phone, you simply have no range. We can hardly imagine that in the Netherlands. I remember well that I was with a group of men in Scotland and that a number of them kept looking on their phones if they already had range.....they had quickly learned that because that was just a few days out of reach.

In the programs such as no way back and Hunted: into the Wild, people are exposed to extreme conditions such as nature in Norway. Here they are challenged to test their survival skills in the wilderness. From finding food to building a shelter for the night. For some, a tent is enough. But also navigating in unknown terrain is always challenging. The first time I walked in Scotland I had never looked at the elevation lines, until a friend explained how this worked you looked at the map very differently.

Often in this type of situation you are forced to push your limits and ask the utmost of yourself. Many viewers are taken to a captivating and adrenaline-boosting viewing experience on an exciting journey for unpredictable twists and emotional ups and downs.

I also always like how quickly people attract each other during these types of trips. You always have a deeper conversation with someone you may not know very well at all much faster than you would have with someone in the "normal world".

Hopefully the programs will also make you excited to go out, you shoes pack a bag, etc. and enjoy nature and the people you go out with.
