During the holidays we had brought two sleeping bags for testing during two weeks we were out and about. We have been selling Husky sleeping bags for years now, but our own sleeping bags were now in need of replacement here and there. Previously, there were a number of Nature Hike sleeping bags that we started CheapOutdoor with at the time, so it was time to replace them with a few new ones.
We have the Husky Master it went down to -12 degrees and Husky Army which went down to -17 degrees. We know the quality of the sleeping bags so there is really nothing to complain about, especially for the price-quality ratio that we want to stand for as CheapOutdoor. These sleeping bags are a bit bigger so I wouldn't have taken them on a backpacking trip or you should have worn them on the outside of your backpack. But for a trip like this, it was fine. We could leave the sleeping bags on the mattresses, fold up the roof tent and go.
Also during the already colder nights because we were in mid-August, the sleeping bags were good in terms of temperature. I had taken the Master's myself because I get hot quickly and Elmi went for the Army so that she would be nice and warm. I even opened the zipper completely several times to use it as a kind of blanket with your feet in the bag, but also lay completely closed at night.
We slept comfortably in these sleeping bags.
Finally, a tip because we regularly get questions about it. People want to sleep as warm as possible, and bring as compact a package as possible, and preferably not pay too much. That's a tricky combination. Compact package and warm sleeping quickly comes down to a down sleeping bag because they are much warmer and easier to compress, but they are often a lot more expensive. And if you choose a synthetic sleeping bag, you will soon go back to a larger package but a lot cheaper. With Husky, Hannah and also Turbat we sell beautiful quality sleeping bags that are affordable, but also reach the temperatures you need to sleep well warm. But sometimes you will have to compromise to get within the possibilities you desire. So you will either have to pay a little more or take a larger package with you.
