Wool is a living material that adapts to your body temperature. In warm weather, moisture and body heat are absorbed by the wool and wicked away from the body. In colder temperatures, heat is retained thanks to the millions of microscopic air pockets that occur naturally in wool. Even when wet (it absorbs 30 per cent of its weight in moisture), the wool keeps you warm. A nice bonus is that wool is naturally odour-resistant.

The wool used by Ivanhoe comes from Europe – genuine wool from real sheep. Lambswool is soft but also a delicate fabric; a blend containing 20% polyamide makes it stronger, more durable and longer-lasting. A newer, even thinner boiled lambswool blend – comprising 80% lambswool, 18% polyamide and 2% Lycra – is a carefully considered combination designed by professional garment makers. Fine and extra-fine merino wool is wonderfully soft and can be worn directly against the skin. The unique merino knit is well-balanced and designed for optimum comfort.

Simply hang the garment out in the fresh air for a while and it will quickly regain its shape and feel clean and fresh again. When washing, pay close attention to the care instructions in the side seam. Most Ivanhoe items can be machine-washed on the wool cycle at 30°C. If hand-washing, wash gently and rub lightly.
