The Chiruca hiking shoes Santiago GTX-Vibram-Gray is a low hiking shoe from the Spanish brand Chiruca. A great hiking shoe to walk on.

GoreTex membrane
This material ensures that it continues to breathe, but also that your feet do not get wet due to external water. This makes the shoes waterproof from the outside in and breathable from the inside out. The Gore-tex membrane consists of a microporous structure that contains more than 1,400 million microscopic pores per cm2. These pores are about 20,000 times smaller than a drop of water. which makes it impossible for water to pass through the membrane. On the other hand, the pores of the membrane are 700 times larger than a molecule of water vapor, allowing sweat to escape to the outside without affecting the waterproofing of the membrane. By preventing the heat from accumulating sight, the feet stay dry and warm. Gore-Tex offers an ideal combination of optimal comfort and durable protection.
Vibram sole
Vibram guarantees shock absorption, durability, temperature and wear resistance, grip and good non - slip behavior. Because walking on rocks is different than on asphalt, Vibram designs specific soles for the different models of Chiruca.

Maintenance instructions:
- To give the shoes the best care and extend their life, Chiruca has given a number of maintenance instructions.
- Allow the shoe to air dry naturally after use. Do not try to speed up the drying process by placing them near a heat source. If you do this, you run the risk of the leather drying out or stiffening.
- On the inside, remove the moisture by making a wick out of a newspaper and putting it in your shoe (this will remove the moisture from your shoe)
- When they are dry you can brush them gently to clean
- Clean them only with a squeezed out damp cloth or a mild soapy solution
- After that, lubricate them with a natural cream for leather, this nourishes the leather and prevents cracks (without limiting its breathability)
- Use a waterproof treatment regularly, this repels dirt and stains and helps keep the leather clean and dry
